What is nAbleMD?

What do you mean by web-based technology?
nAbleMD is built on a robust, reliable, and secure relational data-base technology. For a user it means the system can be accessed over the Internet from anywhere, anytime.

There is no local software to install or upgrade. System is configured and delivered online.

Does nAbleMD offer laboratory interfaces?
Yes, with nAbleMD you can requisition, receive and review lab results online directly from our system. Current interfaces include Quest, LabCorp and AmeriPath and we continue to add more as needed. This is a big time saver, and minimizes the chance of lab tests falling through the cracks.

How does nAbleMD Practice Management typically function in a clinic setting?
nAbleMD follows the logic of how a patient visits your clinic. The patient makes an appointment online, provides insurance data, completes and submits forms, thus saving receptionist time and minimizing patient wait time.

The day before appointment, nAbleMD automatically sends an email reminder to patient and verifies insurance eligibility.

Upon patient arrival, receptionist collects copays which can be made by credit card through nAbleMD, scans insurance and identification cards into nAbleMD, and signs patient in.

At conclusion of patient visit, ICD-9 and CPT codes are entered for processing by nAbleMD. At day’s end, all claims are automatically forwarded to national clearing house and clinic begins receiving acknowledgements on claims status.

In most cases, payments will be made and posted without followup. However, payments not matching contracted amount are flagged. nAbleMD’s reminder system follows up on unpaid claims until payment is received.

In addition, referrals, prescriptions, change of appointments, messages to and from patients are all accommodated through nAbleMD.

I currently have practice management software that works. Why should I switch?

If I decide to switch to nAbleMD, what happens to my data in the old system?
Our IT engineers import the patient demographics data from your existing software into nAbleMD. There is no need to re-enter any existing patient data. Financials are maintained in system being replaced until all active claims have been processed, about three months, at which time nAbleMD billing and collection takes over.

Will my billing and collections be interrupted during the transition process?
There is no interruption of your billing and collections process. We work very closely during this transition phase with the clinics to ensure a smooth transition. We advise our clients to run the old system in parallel for one billing cycle to post payments from the claims in process, essentially letting the old system run dry, and start entering new patients and claims in nAbleMD.

How long will the transition to nAbleMD take?
It takes approximately two weeks from gathering of clinic data to processing documentation with national clearinghouse.

Since there is no installation involved at your end, the customization of nAbleMD takes place on our end. All you’ll need to start using nAbleMD is access to the Internet and a web browser.

How about training and technical support?
Two four-hour onsite training sessions are included in the setup fee. Your staff will be trained on all aspects of the system and walked through their specific clinic tasks. The sessions are scheduled two weeks apart to allow time for staff to gain some hands on experience.

We are always available to answer any questions and walk you through the program over the telephone as we are viewing the same screen that you are. We take pride in developing a partnership with each clinic and providing the best technology and outstanding technical support.

Where is the data stored and is it secure?
All data is stored and served from CyrusOne collocation facility, secured round the clock by guards and surveillance cameras. The facility features a biometric entrance system, two backup power generators, and can withstand Category 5 hurricanes.

Who owns the data and can I make a backup copy of it?
The data belongs to you; we are simply the custodians. You can make a backup copy of the data as often you want from your own computer or we can send you a CD anytime at your request.

Is it HIPAA compliant?
nAbleMD was designed ground up to meet all the HIPAA privacy, data security, and electronic data interchange standards. We continue to add HIPAA compliant features to nAbleMD as new standards become available.

As a one-stop solution for your practice needs, we offer additional customization of nAbleMD to meet your specific needs. We have an experienced software development team that understands medical practice.
